Official fertilizer imports to Kenya increased from 626,418mt in 2018 to 766,126mt and 834,549mt in 2019 and 2020 respectively.
In 2019, 1,296mt were identified to be foliar. Additionally 2,022mt of soil enhancers were also imported into the country. In 2020, 1,083mt were identified to be foliar and additional 2,082mt of soil enhancers were reported.
Some bulk blending fertilizer plants are urgently built in Kenya so that they can produce npk fertilizer themselves, farmers can purchase in local areas directly.
