The Method to Improve Pesticide Utilization

With the increasing of the variety of pesticides and the importance of environmental protection, to improve pesticide utilization and reduce pesticide residues has become the focus of people. Then, how can improve the utilization of pesticides?

First, to improve the mechanical properties of manual application, change the status of the lack of single spray parts to promote the replacement of manual sprayer.

Sprayers are the determinants of atomization quality and it also has directly influence on the distribution of pesticides on crops. Droplet distribution density is an important factor related to the control effect. The same amount of liquid, if the droplet size reduced by half, the number of droplets can be increased by 8 times. So the relevant government departments and enterprises can work together to develop some of the ideal sprayers to replace those old sprayers.

Second, apply low-dose pesticides to reduce the current amount of pesticide application per acre.

Pesticide droplets can be attached to the surface of crop leaves is limited. When the spray exceeds a certain limit, the small droplets on the leaves will be condensed into a large droplets and then the droplets will run down and loss so that decrease the amount of pesticide attached on the blade. The amount of spraying liquid of most of developed countries are generally controlled in the range of 100-300 liters per hectare, less than the amount of pesticide in our country, so the loss is very small, the  pesticides is highly utilized.

Third, we should carry out a wide range of technical training, so that farmers can master the method of scientific application. Farmers should mainly understand the following aspects:

1. The atomization way of manual sprayer is hydraulic atomization so that there should be more than 30 cm to attain completely atomized. Therefore,when spraying pesticides, the nozzle must be kept with the distance of more than 30 cm, to prevent the nozzle close to the crop surface.

2. In the use of cone spray, farmers should changethe habits of sprayingalong the forward direction of the left and right sides of the “Z” to the wind side of the “Z” type so that ensure the applicator work area is no drug Area. At the same time, farmers should use fan-type spray nozzle instead of cone spray nozzle to take a one-sided parallel propulsion spray to improve the distribution of pesticide uniformity. Motorized spray machine take the way of pneumatic atomization, when the nozzle farther from the plant, the droplets will be more thin, the general level of spray in more than 8 meters. When you spray the pesticides, you should make full use of its effective spray to take drift superimposed spray and to improve work efficiency or to avoid targeted spray.
3. During operation, farmers should determine the nozzle point (spray) in accordance with the wind, the hand of the walking route (direction) and field operations order and (starting) principle so
   that make the jet and the wind as far as possible consistent with the wind. Otherwise, farmers can not work.
4. According to the pests and diseases parts of control object and crop different growth period, control the height and angle of the nozzle. At present, the majority of farmers commonly use the fork around the way forward. Using old way to spray will reduce the spray range and form turbulence so that the droplet distribution is uneven, and the entire operating environment are filled with pesticides which will easily cause drug poisoning.
