Scientific Method of Application of Nitrogen Fertilizer

1. Deep placement

The exact depth is flexible. If the dosage amount is small (75-150 kg/hectare), the depth is 10 cm; if the amount is big (300-375kg/hectare), the depth is 15 cm.

2. Applying fertilizer according to soil property

General calcareous soil is weakly-alkaline, acid or physiologically acidic fertilizer should be used, such as ammonium sulfate, ammonium chloride and other ammonium nitrogen fertilizer; for acid soil physiologically alkaline and calcareous nitrogenous fertilizer should be used.

3. Applying fertilizer according to crops

Priority should be given to the application of the cereal crop and leaf vegetables such as greenstuff and tea which have more need for chlorine. While, only a small amount of nitrogen fertilizer is needed for the early growth stage of leguminous crops which have the ability of biological nitrogen fixation.

4. Applying fertilize according to climate

Under normal climate, crops have fast metabolism and absorb and utilize more nutrient, so more nitrogen fertilizer can be applied. And vice versa.

5. Coordinated application with other fertilizers

N, P, K fertilizers can be applied cooperatively with other nutrient element fertilizers. Organic fertilizer as basic fertilizer and nitrogen fertilizer as additional fertilizer can increase the yield of crops.
